The Nonproliferation Policy Education Center (NPEC) is a nonprofit, bipartisan, educational organization founded in 1994 to educate policymakers, journalists, and university professors about international strategic weapons proliferation threats and alternative policies and measures to counter them. The Center, located at 1600 Wilson Boulevard in Arlington, Virginia, is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Research Coordinator.

Support Staff Assistant

Job Description

NPEC is seeking a Support Staff Assistant to work no more than 20 hours per week starting immediately. Pay will be $20.00/hour.

The Support Staff Assistant will work under the supervision of the Deputy Director and Program Coordinator and will be responsible for providing administrative support to the office, including:

  • Event Preparation Support: Assist with logistics of NPEC programs outreach meetings and events, including meeting material preparation, researching travel and venue options, participant information tracking, and handling videoing editing and uploading

  • Data Entry: Update the organization's contacts and website, including daily maintenance (Briefs of Import), posting papers/documents, and monitoring the web for any media postings (NPEC in the Media)

  • Support Office Operations as needed

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Strong writing skills
  • Detailed-oriented and organized
  • Strong multi-tasking, communication, and time management abilities
  • Additional event coordinator experience and IT skills desirable (website maintenance, HTML, Hootsuite, Twitter Analytics, Adobe programs, Dropbox
